Our mission statement tells the world why Tedia exists. Part of that mission is “to share our blessings with the local and global communities.” To this end, Tedia has chosen to support disadvantaged women and children in its charitable giving activities. We have four partner organizations to whom we give the bulk of our donations:
Last year, Tedia donated over $40,000 to this and other organizations to share its blessings with the global and local communities, and seeks to increase that giving amount each year.
In addition, we have various activities both within and external to the company that we use to engage our employees in giving of their time and talent as well as their treasure. Some of these include food and fan drives, raffles, and games to raise money for our Charitable Giving Partners.
Since 2009, Tedia has been a corporate sponsor for the St. Vincent dePaul Society Fan Drive. In 2012, Tedia and its corporate “buddy,” American Fan Company/Fläktwoods, along with individual donations from employees, donated and raised $10,000 to SVDP, which purchased the lion’s share of the fans and air conditioning units for the drive. These units helped needy families and individuals in the surrounding counties to “cool off” during a very hot summer. This project continues to grow and develop, with the goal of bringing in more corporate sponsors to provide more air conditioning units.
A new activity of which we are very proud is our “Day of Community Service,” in which we send our “Tedians” out to volunteer for a service project to help makes lives better for the women and children served by our charitable giving partners. This year, we painted living quarters and offices at Dove House, a domestic violence shelter affiliated with the YWCA. We also sent a large team to Mid-Western Children’s Home to install much needed insulation in their gymnasium. Over 40 Tedians participated in this fun day of service and fellowship. We plan to grow these activities as Tedia grows.
